Brain-Breakthrough-Therapy

What in the world is Brain Breakthrough Therapy? It’s a question I get all of the time! Brain Breakthrough Therapy is a modality that helps reconnect neural pathways that have been disconnected due to a genetic predisposition or some sort of physical, chemical or emotional trauma. The goal of Brain Breakthrough Therapy is to help make things easier for the body to process and deal with.

Brain-Breakthrough-TherapySo how in the world can Brain Breakthrough Therapy help people?

Anxiety and Trauma:

Trauma is a big umbrella and many things can fall underneath it including the death of a loved one, divorce, pandemics, natural disasters, bullying, abuse, neglect, showing up to school each day and feeling dumb, abusive relationships etc.. Research shows us that trauma can get stuck in the body and change the way we process information, increase our anxiety and depression, and impact how we learn.

Research shows us that trauma can cause our bodies to go into fight, flight, or freeze (FFF) mode and get stuck there. When our bodies and nervous systems get stuck in FFF we no longer respond to situations in rational ways, instead our bodies go straight into fight, flight or freeze. I see this in my clients for so many reasons, from thinking of a person who has hurt them in the past to putting a book in their hand, oftentimes their bodies will jump into FFF. The goal of BBT is to clear the trauma your body has been holding onto and to help put you back into neutral so that your body doesn’t keep getting stuck in FFF. The result of this work has been profound in our clients from helping to stop panic attacks, to coming out of depression, to helping children with nightmares and anxiety.

Concussions:

Many clients come to us because they are stuck in the concussion recovery process. Prior to having a concussion, they were able to live life as normal however after the concussion they struggle to find their way back to normal. When a concussion happens, it can often change the pattern of processing things in the body, which can lead to struggle with reading, brain fog, driving, bright lights, exhaustion, overwhelm, etc. Brain Breakthrough Therapy helps the body release the effects of the concussion and go back to its original pattern of processing information.

Dyslexia and Reading Issues:

Many clients come to see us because they have dyslexia or reading is simply hard. It’s exhausting to read; they don’t enjoy it and struggle through reading things several times over before they can comprehend what they read. During the Brain Breakthrough Therapy process we figure out why it’s hard to read, where the disconnections are in the body that is slowing down processing and making reading difficult. We work to reconnect these neural pathways and find that once it is easier for the body to read, suddenly a person’s comprehension starts to rapidly increase.
